Douro Valley Small Group Day Trip from Porto: Two Wineries, Lunch and Pinhão Cruise (12/12)

This Douro Valley day trip comes in two versions. Hotel pickup caps the group at 8 guests. The central meeting point departure takes up to 19. The day includes visits to 2 selected wineries, each with a guided tasting of Port and DOC Douro wines and an explanation of how the region makes them. Lunch is a traditional Portuguese meal at a local restaurant. In Pinhão the group boards a river cruise, and a local guide stays with it from start to finish. The Douro river and its terraced valley are in view for most of the day, and the wineries on the route look out over the water. Both departure options follow the same stops.

  3. Peso Da Regua

When time allows, the group stops in Peso da Régua, a historic Douro town tied to the wine trade. The guide gives a short introduction to the town, and there is free time for coffee and photos.

  4. Quinta do Tedo

Quinta do Tedo is one of the wineries the tour can visit. A local guide explains how the wine is made there, followed by a guided tasting where each wine is introduced. 5. The Douro Valley

Pinhão sits in the middle of the Douro Valley. It was once an important hub for trading and moving wine from the Douro to Porto. In Pinhão the group takes a 1-hour river cruise and has lunch at a traditional local restaurant. Note: winery visits and river cruises are not private and may include other participants.

Winery visits and river cruises are not private and may include other participants.

  8. Porto
