Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
PortoA family business runs this small-group day in the Douro Valley, and the guide is there to help with photos at the best viewpoints, on a phone or a camera. Every visit and tasting is meant to be above average. The boat is a Rabelo, the traditional vessel once used to carry barrels down to Porto, with a Vinho Verde tasting on board. Lunch is at a traditional restaurant, all inclusive. The groups are small, so the table is a good place to talk and try Portuguese products. Table wines are unlimited during the meal. There are 2 wineries on the route, one of them among the region's finest. The visits follow wine from vineyard to pressing, barrel aging and bottling, and include a tasting of Douro olive oil. The drive takes in the N222, described as the most scenic road in Portugal. Special offer: one bottle of wine per reservation.
