Douro Day with Two Local Brothers: Manor House Lunch, Olive Oil Mill and Port Boat Cruise
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Peso Da ReguaMost Douro tours end up in crowded commercial cellars. This one goes to places closed to the general public and is run by two local brothers. Lunch is private, at a 14th-century manor house. At a boutique producer, Teresa, the owner, talks about wine while her best harvests are tasted. The Truta family shows its handmade olive oil lagar, the source of their "liquid gold". The group travels in a premium Mercedes wagon and sails the river in a traditional boat with Port wine in hand. The focus is on the people and the places rather than on monuments, and the hosts treat guests like family.
