Barossa Valley Shared Day Tour from Adelaide with Langmeil, Rockford and Lunch
This shared full-day tour runs from Adelaide into the Barossa Valley, South Australia's best-known wine region, in a small group. The wines cover the valley's range: old vine Shiraz and Grenache from the valley floor, and Riesling grown high up in Eden Valley, with plenty in between. Tastings are at Langmeil, Rockford and Z Wine, and the day also takes in Tanunda and the German settlement of Bethany. The pace is unhurried. Lunch is a generous regional platter, eaten without a clock running, and the drives between stops pass through vineyard country. The day suits serious wine drinkers and first-timers alike, and it is shared, so you travel with other guests rather than on a private booking.
What's included

Adelaide
Pickup is from your accommodation or private residence. Give the address when you book. Guests staying in the Barossa Valley can be collected there instead.
Tanunda
A drive through Tanunda, where the churches are worth counting on the way to the first tasting.
Langmeil Winery
Langmeil sits on the site of a trading village settled in 1842 by German migrant Christian Auricht. The family-owned producer makes award-winning wines, among them those from The Freedom 1843 vineyard, one of the world's oldest Shiraz plantings.
Z Wine
Lunch is a platter of regional cheeses, cured meats and fresh local produce, served with Z Wine's own varietals.
Bethany
Bethany, founded in 1842, was the first major settlement in the Barossa Valley. Many original buildings still stand, and the stop covers why the settlers came and what they did on arrival, on the way to the platter lunch.
Rockford Winery
Rockford works by traditional methods, and everything is done by hand, from pruning and picking to winemaking. Its range includes Basket Press Shiraz, Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon, Sparkling Black Shiraz and the Rod and Spur Cabernet-Shiraz blend.
Krondorf Road lookout and boutique winery
The day closes with a view over the Barossa Valley from the top of Krondorf Road, then a tasting at a family-run boutique winery known for handcrafted reds and whites, with the story behind each wine.
