Barolo Wine Route Drive from Alba with Boutique Cellar Visit and 4-5 Wine Tasting

The tour leaves Alba on one of Piedmont's most scenic wine routes, which winds through the eleven municipalities where Nebbiolo grapes can become Barolo. The Langhe hills spread out along the way, covered in vines and dotted with medieval towers, castles and small hamlets. The drive ends at a boutique Barolo cellar. The owner or the winemaker leads the group into the aging room, then pours 4 to 5 wines. The glasses compare different styles of Barolo and show how Nebbiolo changes when grown on different hillsides. After the tasting there is time to walk around the town of Barolo, or another town in the area, and browse the wine shops at a slow pace.
