This full-day small-group tour splits the day between animals and wine. It leaves Melbourne for Healesville Sanctuary, which was set up to help protect endangered species. The morning goes on spotting koalas, kangaroos, emus and other Australian animals. In the early afternoon the group moves to Yering Station Vineyard for an à la carte main course lunch and a wine tasting. The last stop is De Bortoli Vineyard, where wine and cheese are served before the return to Melbourne.

  1. Healesville Sanctuary

Healesville Sanctuary holds more than 200 species of Australian native animals in natural bushland. A Kangaroo Encounter lets guests feed and pat kangaroos with a keeper, if the animal allows. A Koala Encounter is for photos only, with no touching or feeding. Both carry an additional fee, and the operator must be told in advance to book them.

  2. Yering Station

A tasting of estate and reserve wines in the historic cellar door, then an à la carte main course in the modern, light-filled restaurant, with a glass of wine and coffee.

  3. De Bortoli Winery

De Bortoli sits on more than 450 acres of vineyard-covered hills. The tasting covers estate and premium wines and the dessert wine Noble One, paired with selected cheeses.
