Cruise Ship Friendly Yarra Valley Wine Tour with Port Melbourne Pickup and Gin Stop
A laid-back, social wine day with wine, cider and more, and plenty of laughs along the way. The vehicle collects guests in the morning, and the first hour is for getting to know each other. Everyone adds songs to a shared Spotify playlist, which sets the soundtrack. Time is limited, so the itinerary sticks to the best of the Yarra Valley and adds a few hidden gems. It stays flexible, and the group is asked in the morning whether they want anything different. The group has been split up when people wanted different things. A typical day has tastings at several venues and a restaurant stop paid for by guests. Guests who want to can also be dropped off at the scenic Domaine Chandon, where drinks are at their own expense. Lunch is not included in the price. The group eats at Quarters, where guests pay for their own food and drink.

Station Pier, 6 Waterfront Pl, Port Melbourne
Pickup is exactly where the ship drops you off, technically 6 Waterfront Place, Port Melbourne. The vehicle is confirmed the day before the tour, and the driver meets you at the closest point to the ship on the driveway circuit.
Yarra Valley
This is a list of venues the tour could visit, not all of them on the same day. The tour includes tastings at 4 of them, plus a fifth stop for lunch with no tasting. The itinerary can change daily depending on what is open. The drive to the first venue takes 55 minutes, and the scenery picks up after about 45.
Family-Run Boutique Vineyard Tasting
Five or six wines and a Pink Lady apple cider at a very small, family-run boutique vineyard.
Winery Tasting with Cheese Platters
A laid-back winery with views and a wide range of styles, from medium-bodied reds to pinot grigio, sweet dessert wines, sparkling, unfiltered pinot noir, Chardonnay, heavy Shiraz and fortified wines. Cheese platters are provided to go with the tasting.
Domaine Chandon
Domaine Chandon does not really accept tour groups, so drinks are not usually included. Guests who want to go can be dropped off for 30 to 40 minutes after lunch, in place of the time spent relaxing at the lunch venue. Drinks there are at your own expense and not part of the price. Most people only want a glass and the scenery, so the time is enough. This is the only tour that offers the stop.
St Huberts Cellar Door
Lunch is at Quarters, the restaurant on the St Huberts estate. The menu is on a QR code, or you can order from the wait staff. Lunch is at your own expense. The menu covers pizzas, burgers, steaks, ribs, vegan dishes, celiac-friendly options and creative salads. The venue also has a cellar door for wine and whiskey tastings, and an Indigenous art museum with works by First Nations artists from around Victoria. The group is often split after lunch between those who want to explore the venue and those who want to try Chandon.
Four Pillars Distillery
Four gins are served on a paddle with tonic or soda, while staff explain how they are made in the new distillery. Anyone who prefers something else can order any type of drink. Across the road, a private wine tasting at Payton and Jones can be arranged for a wine-focused day.

- This is a public group tour where you’ll be joined by others. Large groups can book, and a private tour for the group can be discussed with the operator.
- Two vehicles run this tour. A 21-seater bus is mainly used, deliberately not filled, to keep an intimate small-group feel, and a maximum of 18 people can book. A second, smaller 11-seater van also runs. If group size is important to you, let the operator know so they can best accommodate you.
- There is generally no space for luggage of any sort.
- In this itinerary only 4 of the 5 venues listed are visited, because some places are closed on certain days. The Four Pillars Gin Distillery is generally NOT visited.
- All ages from 0 to 110 are accepted. Babies are required to sit on laps, however.
- Pickup is from the carpark where you leave the ship at STATION PIER.
