Yarra Valley Four-Winery Tour with Two-Course Lunch, Gin or Beer Upgrade
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
MelbourneThis is a slower, all-arranged day in the Yarra Valley built around four hand-picked wineries, a winery lunch and a sweet stop at the end. The wineries include Yering Station, Soumah, Helen & Joey Estate and Payten & Jones, a mix of acclaimed and boutique producers. Lunch is two courses at a winery: shared antipasto to start, an individual main and a complimentary glass of wine. The day closes at the Yarra Valley Chocolate & Ice Creamery. The fourth winery can be swapped for a different kind of stop. Choose the "CLASSIC WINE and GIN" option for Four Pillars Gin Distillery (available 7 days) or "CLASSIC WINE and BEER" for Watts River Brewing (available Thursday to Monday). Additional fees apply.

Yering Station
Usually one of the winery visits. A tasting and time to walk the estate. Yering Station dates from 1838 and pours Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in a historic cellar door. It also has a restaurant.
Soumah
Usually the second winery, with guided tastings followed by lunch. Soumah is a boutique winery making Italian and French varietals such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo and Brachetto, and its restaurant serves Italian-inspired food.
Alternative second winery, Coldstream
Occasionally the second winery instead, when Soumah is unavailable or a second bus is running. A tasting of several styles, including a Tempranillo, then a shared two-course lunch in an intimate restaurant over the vineyards. Expect warm bread, antipasto and olive oil, then seasonal shared mains such as lamb, chicken or fish, with a glass of estate wine.
Helen & Joey Estate Cellar Door
Usually the third winery. More wine, and a walk around the estate's lake. Helen & Joey Estate makes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz, with a restaurant, cellar door and outdoor seating over the countryside.
Payten & Jones Wines
Usually the fourth winery. An eclectic tasting, or a glass of wine or beer instead. Payten & Jones is a small winery making handcrafted wines from local grapes, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
Watts River Brewing
Replaces the fourth winery on the "CLASSIC WINE & BEER" option (Thursday to Monday). A guided tasting of 4 core beers, or a glass of beer. Watts River Brewing is a family-owned craft brewery in Healesville founded by former White Rabbit brewers.
Four Pillars Distillery
Replaces the fourth winery on the "CLASSIC WINE & GIN" option (available 7 days). A paddle of 4 gins with a mixer, or a glass of beer instead. Four Pillars is known for its Rare Dry Gin and Navy Strength Gin, and has a cocktail bar and shop.
Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery
The last stop. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery sells handmade chocolate and ice cream. Guests can watch the chocolatiers at work, taste and buy gifts.
