Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
FlorenceTuscany packs art, history, hill towns and good food into one region, and a single day is enough to sample all of it. This full-day guided coach trip leaves Florence and covers three cities: Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa. Between Siena and San Gimignano, the group stops at an organic, family-run wine estate for a tasting and a farm lunch. Siena comes first, with its medieval squares and contrade districts, then the estate, then the towers of San Gimignano, and finally Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower. The coach returns to Florence in the evening.

Stazione Firenze, Piazza della Stazione, 27, Firenze
Check-in is at 7.45am. The guide holds a WALKABOUT TOURS sign by the taxi stand at Santa Maria Novella train station, across from the outdoor McDonald's.
Siena
The coach leaves Florence and rolls through the Tuscan countryside until Siena comes into view, a well-preserved medieval city built over three hills. Warm brick buildings and Gothic details set the tone from the first look.
Piazza Salimbeni
A short walk from the drop-off leads to Piazza Salimbeni, a quieter and more formal square lined with elegant palaces. A statue of Sallustio Bandini stands at its center, facing the historic seat of one of the oldest banks in the world.
Contrada della Torre
Next comes an introduction to the contrade, the historic districts of Siena. Each has its own emblem, traditions and rivalries, and all of them come alive at the Palio horse race. Flags, fountains and symbols along the streets mark whose territory you are in.
Piazza del Campo
Piazza del Campo is a wide, shell-shaped square that slopes down toward the Palazzo Pubblico. It is where the Palio is run, and on an ordinary day locals and visitors simply sit on the brick and watch the square.
Duomo di Siena
The route climbs to the Duomo di Siena, a landmark of Italian Gothic architecture. The facade is striped in black and white marble. Inside are inlaid floors, sculptures and works by masters including Michelangelo.
Fattoria Poggio Alloro
The group then visits an organic, family-run wine estate, which the itinerary counts among the day's highlights. The tasting is relaxed and informal and covers regional wines such as Chianti, Vernaccia and the Tuscan dessert wine Vin Santo. A generous lunch follows, served with wide views over the countryside. The table is built on farm produce: homemade pasta, cured meats such as prosciutto and salami, local cheeses, a garden salad and Tuscan biscotti.
San Gimignano
After the winery, the road runs through vineyards and olive groves to San Gimignano. The UNESCO-listed hill town is nicknamed the "Medieval Manhattan" for the ancient towers that rise above the countryside.
Piazza Della Cisterna
Inside the walls, Piazza della Cisterna takes its name from the well at its center. The triangular square is ringed by towers and medieval houses, and it is a good place to stop for a few minutes.
Piazza del Duomo
Piazza del Duomo is only a few steps away and was the town's religious and civic center. The Collegiate Church faces the Palazzo Comunale across the square, a pairing that reflects how power was shared in medieval life.
Rocca of Montestaffoli
The Rocca di Montestaffoli is a fortress with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. From the top, hills, vineyards and distant villages spread out in every direction.
Pisa
In the afternoon the group drives west to Pisa, a former maritime republic. Its university gives the city a student energy that sits alongside centuries of history.
Piazza dei Miracoli
In Pisa, the stop is Piazza dei Miracoli, a broad lawn where several of Italy's best-known monuments stand side by side. The UNESCO World Heritage Site gathers a remarkable set of Romanesque buildings.
Leaning Tower of Pisa
The visit ends at the Leaning Tower, Pisa's best-known landmark. The white-marble bell tower is recognizable by its tilt. Photos from a distance or up close close out a day that has run from Siena to San Gimignano to Pisa.
Florence
The coach drops passengers in Florence at around 8.30pm, with a full camera roll, a full stomach of hearty Tuscan food and a few new friends.
