Undurraga Winery Half-Day Tour from Santiago: Mapuche Sculptures and Tasting (3/3)

Undurraga is one of the oldest wineries in Chile and the first Chilean vineyard to export wine to the United States. This half-day trip from Santiago visits it with a guide and finishes with a tasting. A minibus collects you at your hotel and drives about 25 miles (40 km) to the commune of Talagante. The grounds come first: the family park and the Aliwen area, where ceremonial wooden sculptures honor the culture of the Mapuche, an indigenous people of this part of Chile. Inside, the guide explains production methods that have been in use for more than 140 years. The underground cellars date from the winery's founding at the end of the 19th century and have aged Reserva wines for years. The visit ends with three wines, and the guide points out what sets each one apart. The minibus then returns you to your hotel in Santiago. Premium guided tour This upgrade swaps the standard tasting for four Premium Reserve wines, served with a cheese board and dried fruits. Hotel pickup Pickup and drop-off cover hotels in Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura and Santiago Centro. If your hotel is in another district, the guide contacts you to agree on a different meeting point.
