Small-Group Chianti Wine Tour from Florence: San Gimignano and Two Farm Wineries (12/12)

A small-group wine tour through the Tuscan countryside, with time to meet local wine makers and other travelers. Students, families with kids and honeymooners are all welcome, and the operator is happy to mark a birthday, an anniversary or any other occasion. Two wineries on working farms are on the route, the operator's favorites in the Chianti area. Each has a guided visit of the cellars and the farm, and a guided tasting of wine, olive oil and food. Lunch is an authentic Tuscan meal at the second farm, with more local wines, olive oil, cheeses and other products. San Gimignano gets its own guided visit, covering the most scenic sites and towers of the town nicknamed the Medieval Manhattan, such as Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Cisterna. Free time follows for shopping and for gelato from the world champion gelato maker Dondoli. The tour also stops at Piazzale Michelangelo for the view over Florence.
