One day, two ways of making Champagne. This small-group trip from Paris starts at a major house (Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Mercier, Nicolas Feuillatte, Boizel or another producer, depending on availability) and ends at a small family-owned estate. Seeing both shows how size and philosophy shape the style in the glass. At each stop the group goes down into the cellars and hears the traditional methods behind the wine. Between visits the guide talks through the vineyards, grape varieties and terroir. A three-course lunch at a local restaurant sits in the middle of the day, and a stop on the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay leaves time to walk. The last tasting is a blind one at Royal Champagne, a viewpoint over the vineyards, where the task is to tell Champagne from Crémant. Hotel or Airbnb pickup in Paris and the drop-off at the same spot are part of the day.

  1. Paris

Pickup at your hotel or Airbnb in Paris, then an air-conditioned drive to the Champagne region. The guide talks about the region's history, culture and winemaking on the way.

  2. Champagne

The first visit is to a renowned Champagne house, such as Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Nicolas Feuillatte, Mercier or Boizel, depending on availability. A guided tour of the estate and cellars covers its history and methods and ends with a tasting of the house style. A smaller family producer follows later in the day.

  3. Champagne

A traditional French lunch of three courses (starter, main course and dessert) at a selected local restaurant.

  4. Avenue de Champagne

The Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, often called the most prestigious street in Champagne, lined on both sides by historic Champagne houses. Free time to stroll, look at the buildings and take photos.

  5. Champagne

A small, family-owned Champagne producer. The guided tour of the estate and cellars is followed by a tasting of handcrafted Champagnes, a clear contrast with the large houses seen earlier.

  6. Royal Champagne viewpoint

Royal Champagne is a scenic spot with panoramic views over the vineyards. The guide/driver hosts a blind tasting where guests compare sparkling wines and try to tell Champagne from Crémant. Good for photos too.

  7. Paris

The drive back to Paris in an air-conditioned vehicle. The driver/guide drops the group at the same place as the morning pickup.
