All-Inclusive Champagne Day from Paris by Minivan: Verzenay, Pommery, Reims Cathedral
A full day in Champagne by Mercedes minivan, with breakfast, lunch and two tasting sessions included in the price. Pickup and drop-off are at your accommodation in central Paris, and a light French breakfast is served on board after pickup. The guide works in agriculture and viticulture in Champagne, and the day is built around that. It starts in the vineyards of Verzenay, moves to a small producer where a vintner shows how grapes become Champagne, and continues to a restaurant lunch in Reims with French cooking. The afternoon goes to the Reims Cathedral, then to the chalk cellars of the Pommery estate.

Verzenay
Pickup at your Paris accommodation between 7:00 and 7:30 am, then about 2 hours in the minivan with a light French breakfast on board. In the vineyards at Verzenay the guide covers the work of all four seasons, from pruning to harvest. A small producer's vintner then shows how grapes become Champagne, with a tasting of at least 3 Champagnes. Reims for lunch is 30 minutes away.
Reims
Lunch at the restaurant Au Petit Comptoir. The chef cooks only 8 dishes a day from fresh seasonal produce: 3 starters, 3 main courses and 2 desserts, and guests pick a three-course menu. Special diets and allergies can be accommodated. A glass of red or white wine, mineral water, and coffee or tea are included.
Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims
A highlight of the day. A guided visit to the UNESCO World Heritage cathedral where all French kings were crowned, badly damaged in the First World War and dear to the French. Long stop to see the stained glass by Marc Chagall.
Vranken Pommery
A guided tour of the large Pommery estate, founded in 1836, starting with its English-style architecture. Below are chalk pits dating to Roman times, where 27 million bottles age. A glass of Champagne among modern art works closes the visit. Taittinger may replace Pommery. The minivan then returns to Paris, about 2.5 hours with rush-hour traffic.
