This day trip from central Paris runs on a wine expert guide and eight tastings. Pickup is at your hotel, and a fresh croissant goes with the drive while the guide introduces the region, its history and its traditions. The first stop is a major Champagne house, such as Mumm, Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, Pommery or Nicolas Feuillatte. The group walks the cellars, hears how the wine is made and pours the first glass. Next comes a stop among the vines for a guided tasting, with the talk turning to terroir and winemaking techniques. Lunch is served at a family-run Champagne house or a local restaurant, with a different style of Champagne alongside. In the afternoon the group visits a smaller estate, a family-owned vineyard or a coopérative, for a final tasting of another kind of Champagne. The day ends back in central Paris in the late afternoon.
