Santa Rita Selection Winery Tour in Alto Jahuel: Cal y Canto and Patriots' Cellars
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
SantiagoSanta Rita was declared a historic monument in 1972. It sits at the foot of the Andes, among vineyards, historic homes, monuments and a 19th-century park. The Selection Tour walks through the vineyards and the varietal garden, then follows the whole process of making, aging and bottling the wine. The highlights are two old cellars: Cal y Canto and the Patriots' Cellar. It ends with a tasting of one Gran Reserva and two Ultra Premium wines, served with cheese and crackers. The Alto Jahuel estate has more to see for those who stay on. The Andean Museum holds over 3,000 pre-Columbian pieces, a neo-gothic church stands in the centenary park, and the a la carte restaurant Doña Paula has been named by specialized critics as the best restaurant outside Santiago.
