Santa Rita Premium Winery Tour in Alto Jahuel: Cellars, Roman Baths, 3 Wines
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
SantiagoSanta Rita sits at the foot of the Andes and was declared a historic monument in 1972. Vineyards, historic homes and a 19th-century park surround the winery, and the Premium Tour is the way to see most of it. The route covers the vineyards and the varietal garden, then follows the full process of making, aging and bottling the wine. It also takes in the park, the gardens, the Roman baths and the chapel. Highlights are the neo-gothic chapel, the Roman baths built in the late 1800s and the historic cellars. The tasting is three Ultra Premium wines served with cheese, crackers and nuts. The winery at Alto Jahuel has more on site for those who want to stay longer: the Andean Museum holds more than 3,000 pre-Columbian pieces, and the a la carte restaurant Doña Paula has been named by specialized critics as the best restaurant outside Santiago.
