Rome to Tuscany Day Trip by Coach: Montepulciano, Pienza, Vineyard Lunch and Wine Tasting
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
RomeThis day trip takes the pressure out of visiting Tuscany from Rome. An air-conditioned coach covers the drive, and the day is built around three places: Montepulciano, a hilltop wine town, the Renaissance Tempio di San Biagio in the Val d'Orcia countryside, and Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A guided walk in Montepulciano leads through the cathedral, medieval streets and wine cellars. Lunch is three courses at a Tuscan vineyard, served with regional wines that include Brunello di Montalcino. Pienza is left open for free time, with shops and Pecorino cheese to try. The group option adds a short pasta-making demonstration and a wine tasting.
