San SebastianThis wine day leaves from San Sebastian for La Rioja, farmed since Roman times. Private transport and hotel pick-up in San Sebastian are part of it. Two wineries with different approaches are on the route (one in the bilingual group option): a small family-run one and a mid-sized one. Both show traditional and newer methods in the vineyard and the cellar. The walk runs among vines and barrels, and the guided tasting points to the red fruit, vanilla and spice typical of Crianza and Reserva wines. The day continues in Laguardia, a medieval town with cobbled streets and underground cellars. A small pintxos lunch with local wines comes with tips for exploring the wine route further. No wine knowledge is needed. The day is comfortable, intimate and flexible, and it is about meeting the people behind each bottle.
