A private day in the Yarra Valley, one of Australia's leading wine and food regions, planned around your tastes. The tour visits between one and four boutique wineries. Tastings are not bundled into the tour price: guests pick the ones they want and pay only for those, which gives more control over the budget. Depending on availability, a local distillery or brewery can be added. Cool-climate wines, sparkling wine, gin or craft beer: tell the operator what you like and the day is built around it. The guide tells the story of the valley, its vineyards and its producers along the way. The day ends at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, with handmade chocolates to browse and taste.

  1. Helen & Joey Estate Cellar Door

Typical itinerary. Wineries here range from hip to classic, each with its own focus. The default first stop is Helen & Joey, known for natural wines, photogenic views and a unicorn. Depending on preference and availability, it can be swapped for Oakridge, Four Pillars distillery, Greenstone, Rochford or Hellen's Hill.

  2. Tarrawarra Estate and Lunch

The second winery doubles as the lunch venue. The default is Tarrawarra Estate, known for wide views and an artistic spirit. The tasting takes place in its underground cellar door, with an optional visit to the Tarrawarra Museum of Art, then lunch at the restaurant, whose menu draws on the land and local farmers. It can be swapped for Rochford, Tokar Estate, Soumah or Yering Station.

  3. Domaine Chandon

The third venue is Chandon, known for the valley's most exceptional sparkling wine. Depending on availability and preference, it can be swapped for Four Pillars distillery, Yering Station, Panton Hill or De Bortoli.

  4. Four Pillars Distillery

Four Pillars Distillery, known for its Shiraz gin, is the last stop. Any venue above can replace it if it is unavailable or if guests ask.

  5. Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery

    Free time at the chocolaterie.
