A newer starting point leaves more distance for riding among the vineyards.

R45, Franschhoek, Simondium
Visitors can drive to the start at Groot Drakenstein Games Club, R45, Franschhoek, Simondium. The clubhouse is both start and end point.
Banhoek Lodge
Banhoek Lodge, Helshoogte Road (R310), Stellenbosch, is the official start and end point, with safe parking. Arrive 15 minutes early to be fitted with the right bike and helmet. The wine guide then briefs the group. The ride goes through private wineries and vineyards, away from main roads.
Zorgvliet Wine Estate
The accredited wine guide covers the valley's wine history, the winery, the seasons of the vine and the wines. Zorgvliet is the first tasting stop. Cycling to it and time at the estate are counted together.
Thelema Mountain Vineyards
Through vineyards and private roads, away from main roads, to Thelema, a small boutique winery, for the second tasting. Mountains and vineyards surround the route throughout. Cycling and time at the estate are counted together.
