This is a full-day private trip from Lisbon to the Douro Valley. A driver collects you at your hotel in an extra comfortable vehicle and handles the whole journey, including the return. Once in the valley the route passes Régua and takes the N222, long regarded as one of the best roads to drive for its scenery. There is a stop at a winery and a pass through Pinhão. The day is built around wine, local food and views, and the ride home is yours to rest.

The drive from Lisbon to the Douro Valley follows the river valleys. The Douro crosses one of the longest rivers of the Iberian Peninsula and reaches the ocean after a series of jumps and bends. The region is hard and romantic at once, and can be explored by boat, train or car.

Expected arrival in the Douro Valley. A short stop for the restroom or a coffee.
Pinhao
Free time for lunch and to explore as you choose. Port and the region's table wines are there to try.
Pinhao Railway Station
A visit here, then the drive back from the Douro Valley to Lisbon, again along the river valleys.
