This private day trip runs from San Francisco to wine country in both Sonoma and Napa counties, and the route is built around the people in the car. Preferences are discussed during customization, so the day follows what the group wants to taste and see rather than a fixed script. The first stop is the Golden Gate Bridge, at the North End by Fort Baker, a good spot for photos. Sparkling wine is served there while the group looks at the view, which sets the tone for the rest of the day. The winery lineup is open. Wineries mentioned for the trip include Castello DiAmoroso, Sterling, Domaine Carneros, Domaine Chandon, Caymus, Mumm Napa, Opus One, Cakebread and Frog's Leap, among many others. Viator cannot fit the full list on one page, so the choice is settled when the tour is customized. Every stop is optional. Plan on at least 60 minutes of driving each way between San Francisco and the nearest winery.
