Podere La Marronaia Private Biodynamic Tasting with Lunch, Olive Oil and Balsamic
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
San GimignanoA private visit to Podere La Marronaia, a biodynamic farm a few minutes from the centre of San Gimignano, with a view of the countryside and the town's medieval towers. It opens with an introduction to the farm: its history, the agricultural methods it uses and how its biodynamic production works. Then comes a Tuscan lunch with a tasting of four to five organic wines from the estate's own vineyards, and all the extra virgin olive oils the farm makes. A family member leads the visit, in Italian or English.

The tasting starts with a short introduction in front of the farm's Vernaccia vineyard, one of the oldest in San Gimignano. The Tuscan meal has 4 courses: bruschetta and crostini, organic pasta with the sauce of the day, local cheeses and cold cuts from Casa Porciatti, and homemade cake. The wines are at least four organic and biodynamic labels from Podere La Marronaia, such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi, plus 6 extra virgin olive oils, natural and flavoured, and 3 balsamic vinegars, with advice on pairing each one with the food.
