Siena Province Day Trip: Monteriggioni, Pienza, Montepulciano and Two Wine Tastings

This 11.5-hour day trip covers three towns in the province of Siena: Monteriggioni, Pienza and Montepulciano. Two wine tastings and a Tuscan lunch are part of the day. The group meets at the Villa Costanza bus station at the scheduled time. The first stop is Monteriggioni, where there are 40 minutes free for breakfast or a rest. A nearby vineyard follows, with a tasting of three wines, olive oil and fresh bread. Lunch brings the group together for charcuterie, cheeses and pasta with traditional Tuscan ragù, with water and coffee. Pienza comes next, known as the "ideal city" for the Renaissance plan Pope Pius II had built. Guests get one hour and 20 minutes on their own, enough for the palaces along Corso Rossellino and the 15th-century Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral.
