Marques de Riscal and Ysios Wine Tour with Three-Course Lunch from Bilbao
This day trip from Bilbao pairs two of Rioja Alavesa's best-known wineries. At Marques de Riscal, named Best Winery in the World 2024, the group takes the full winery tour. At Ysios, listed as Third Best Winery in the World 2026, the premium wines come with local cheese and cold meats. A three-course lunch follows, with vegetarian options available. Drive from Bilbao to Rioja
The drive from Bilbao into wine country takes about an hour and a half, with views on the way.
Bodegas Marques de Riscal
First stop is the Marques de Riscal winery. The group is small, under 25 people, and gets the full winery tour plus a tasting of 3 wines with local snacks.
Bodegas Ysios
Ysios opened in 2000 and its building is now the region's best-known landmark. The group visits it, hears about its architect, Santiago Calatrava, and tastes 2 premium wines with cheese, serrano ham and cold meats.
Laguardia
A photo stop in Laguardia, a walled medieval town from the 10th century and one of the most attractive towns in the Basque Country.
Labastida
Lunch is included, in Laguardia or another nearby town depending on availability. It is a typical three-course meal with dessert, and vegetarian options are provided.
Province of Alava
The scenic drive back to Bilbao takes about an hour and a half.
