Marlborough Wine Tour from the Port of Picton for Cruise Passengers, 4-5 Hours
A local chauffeur-guide drives this 4-5 hour tour, leaving the Port of Picton for the Marlborough wine region on a scenic route. There is time for three to four wineries. Each cellar door has its own styles, and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are on the list, along with gourmet treats and views on the drive between stops. Lunch can be a meal in a winery garden cafe, or a glass of wine with a cheese, meat or seafood platter above the Wairau Valley. The tour gets back to Picton well before the ship's scheduled departure. A short extra drive to a lookout gives a view of Picton Port, your ship and Queen Charlotte Sound.
