Poças Family Winery Visit in Porto: Tawny Port Tasting with Pastel de Nata
Poças is more than 100 years old and now run by the fourth generation. It is one of the few Port wine companies that was born Portuguese and has stayed with the same family since its foundation. Old Tawny Ports made the reputation of the house. The DOC Douro wines have added their own record over the last 30 years. In 2019 the Vinhos Magazine named Poças "Fortified Wine Producer of the Year 2018". The Poças Visit Center has been open to the public since 2016 and was fully renovated in 2018, in a project signed by architects Lúcia Vaz Pato and António Mota. It receives about 28,000 visitors a year and won a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2018. The visit shows a working cellar and its routines, with the aroma of the wines in the air, and this tour comes with a Port tasting and a pastel de nata.
