Cheese and Port Wine Pairing at a Family-Owned Port House near the Rabbit, Gaia

This is a small, family-owned business whose family has made Port for more than five generations. Portugal's entry into the EU changed what it could do: from 1993 the family was able to bottle its wines under its own brand. That makes it one of the newest Port houses in the Douro region. The wines are raised, matured and bottled in the Douro Valley, where the origin of the grapes matters most. The pairing suits experienced Port drinkers and newcomers alike, and the team on site runs it.
